The Alcatel-Lucent 1655 Access Multiplexer Universal is a compact, high-density STM-1/4 or STM-16 access multiplexer that can cost-effectively deliver reliable, feature rich, high-speed communications services such as LAN interconnection, Internet access, and voice services.
Providing a wide variety of interfaces, it supports a flexible mix of circuit and data traffic on one common platform — eliminating the need for separate overlay networks. This space-efficient system is offered in two designs supporting both Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and Central Office (CO) applications.
