The Alcatel-Lucent 1650 SMC is a very compact add-drop multiplexer and mini cross connect that meets the requirements of metro access networks. It is an ideal multi-function building block for delivering SDH, integrated ATM and Packet Ring MPLS-based switching capabilities, as well as LAN interfaces (Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet).
