The 802.11 Wi-Fi standards and more recently the 802.16 WiMAX standards have firmly placed broadband wireless technology in centre stage. Wireless broadband is no longer a niche technology used when the wired solutions are not available but an attractive solution in its own right, which can deliver services and solutions the alternatives cannot. Airspan has been at the forefront of developing these new wireless standards.
